The designation GTO was taken from the Italian 250 Ferrari GTO which stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, an Italian grand touring designation. From 1964 through 1966 the GTO had a 389 cubic inch displacement with single or multiple carburetion options. Later years expanded to 400 cubic inch engines with ram air options. This 1966 GTO is among the finest examples we have seen in recent years. It is powered by a 335hp 389ci V8 engine which is backed by a four speed standard transmission equipped with a Hurst shifter and a positraction rear end. The engine compartment is clean and encompasses the no power option, no nonsense high output engine.
