It was stripped to the frame and all the metal parts were gloss black powder-coated. It has been brought into the new millennium and updated with premium quality components and technology. It looks better, runs better and functions better than when it was new. I also had the original matching numbers engine rebuilt and it comes along with this motorcycle. Yes, that is right, two fresh engines for the price of one! The bike draws rave reviews wherever it goes, especially from people who know what an FXRT is and can appreciate the form it is in now. FXRT’s are known for great handling. I have owned several Street Glides and a couple of Road Glides. This bike handles far better than any of those. It is lighter and goes into and out of the turns with ease. It is the best riding Harley I have ever been on. When you sit in the saddle it just feels right. It has a completely clean title that is ready to be transferred today. It is a difficult decision to even offer this FXRT for sale. But it is time to sell it now. I acquired this motorcycle and 9 others from a collector's private museum. This Indian 741 was completely restored and civilianized 15 years ago, with no expense spared. Everything was rebuilt including engine, transmission, generator and everything else. The frame and black parts were powder coated and the paint job is gorgeous. The bike was started when the previous owner purchased it, and before putting it in his museum, the tanks were emptied and the cylinders were fogged with oil. I have not personally started the bike, but it has great compression, and everything works when a battery is connected. This particular bike is a October 1971 build and would be One that has the “full power ” cylinders. It also has all the traits of a 1971 H2, Plastic headlamp shell, long brake arms Etc. Its VERY original, correct date codes on EVERYTHING – Wheels, switches, discs Etc. We completely stripped this bike down to the bare frame, the frame was touched up as required, there was no “professional ” repainting of anything, we didn ’t re-zinc anything nor re-chrome anything. A few nuts were too far gone so there were replaced, as were some of the rubbers. The tires and tubes are new, new chain and sprockets of course, all cables are new, the clutch is new with a Ralf Gille multi spline lifter. The front brake has been rebuilt with a new master cylinder and caliper piston kit, The rear has had new brake shoes. The fuel tap has been replaced with a “Pesty ” rebuild unit that now has a real off position. Clean title. I have just come back from a 70 mile ride and the bike runs like it should, I am happy that the performance is as good as any stock H2 that I have ever ridden.
