1965 Pontiac Grand Prix Coupe for Sale
Manitowoc, WI
Dec 30, 2023
All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance. We can assist with financing and shipping as needed. This 1965 Pontiac really puts the Grand in Grand Prix. This wonderful classic is a prime example of the big luxury coupes of the era. Hailing from Arizona, it is remarkably solid throughout and a real pleasure to drive. It offers a terrific ride with its generous proportions, 389ci engine, and factory air conditioning. Lets start with the underside of this southwestern Pontiac. The frame and floor pans are all in fantastic condition; its hard to believe this car is almost 60 years old! The body has had one repaint in its original color of Reef Turquoise. I think this is the perfect color for this car; they just seem made for each other. Notable design elements include the gorgeous tail panel and the unique front bumper that wraps all the way to the wheelwells. This Grand Prix also has the desirable Pontiac 8-lug wheels with brand new tires all around. Also note 1965 was the first year for GMs full width perimeter frame. This gives a smoother ride with more safety than the previous x-frame design. The drivetrain consists of the factory 389ci 4v engine rated at 325hp. As with most Pontiac motors there is plenty of low-end torque to really get this big car moving. The transmission is a TH400 automatic while the rear end is a 10-bolt with a factory 4-link suspension. The car is also equipped with power steering and power brakes that are very effective on this big car. Recent maintenance includes a new alternator, power steering pump, brake master cylinder, hoses, shoes, and wheel cylinders. The turquoise interior is very inviting with its woodgrain features and bright accents. Like the exterior, this interior presents a great throwback to the mid-60s but with a clean, uncluttered look. There are bucket seats in front with a center console while the rear bench has a folding armrest in the middle. The exterior lights, interior lights, retractable trunk light, turn signals, horn, radio, wipers, and parking brake all function properly. So do all the instruments including the power (vacuum) gauge at the front of the center console and the aftermarket oil / water gauges in the glove box. And finally, the factory air conditioning also works and is still an R12 system. This Grand Prix has a ton of personality and seems to get everyones attention. It is a special combination of style, drivability, and condition that makes it stand out among classic cars. If youre a fan of the big 60s coupes then this may be your ride; just make sure you measure your garage before you bring this one home. 1964 Ford Fairlane Custom Ranch Station Wagon for Sale
Manitowoc, WI
Dec 30, 2023
All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance. We can assist with financing and shipping as needed. Old station wagons have their own kind of cool. They are unlike anything you can buy today, with their classic car looks, V8 engines, and generous proportions. This 1964 Ford Fairlane Custom Ranch wagon captures the look of Fords finest and is somewhat rare; when is the last time you saw one of these on the road? This one also has a few performance upgrades like a 347ci engine and four-wheel disc brakes to make it even more special. This Fairlane was built at the Kansas City plant and sold through the Atlanta DSO. With a southern upbringing, this car has remained free of any rust problems top or bottom. It has been repainted in its original code P Prairie Bronze and fitted with styled steel wheels for a sporty look. Much of the chrome, trim, emblems, and lenses have been reconditioned or replaced. This includes the roof rails, Fairlane 500 script, and 289 fender badges. Note the rear bumper steps too. Originally powered by a C-code 289ci V8, this Fairlane has a lot more scoot today thanks to a stroked 347ci small block. Engine highlights include Edelbrock aluminum heads, RPM Air-Gap intake, and Performer 4-barrel carburetor with electric choke. It also has an MSD 6AL ignition, Hooker headers, Milodon 8-quart oil pan, and an aluminum radiator. The original Cruise-o-Matic transmission has been replaced with a rebuilt C4. The rear end has 3.25 gears for nice highway cruising. There are many new parts throughout the steering and suspension systems, and the brakes have been converted to discs all around along with a dual reservoir master cylinder. The old Palomino interior has been completely redone in black and looks terrific. The dual bench seats have subtle white piping and dual lap belts in front. The door panels, carpet, dash pad, and headliner have all been replaced and are in great condition. Equally impressive are the dashboard, gauges, steering wheel, and horn ring. A set of oil pressure and water temperature gauges were added under the dash along with a Moon tachometer. The gauges, lights, turn signals, heater, horn, wipers, and AM radio all work properly. In back, the tailgate has a power window while the rear storage area is fully carpeted. The rear facing third seat compartment is lined with rubber and is great for storage. One other interesting note about this Fairlane. It made a brief appearance in the 2011 movie Kill The Irishman with Val Kilmer at the wheel. It can be seen around the 30 minute mark if you are interested. The sight of a station wagon from this era is becoming less frequent. It is even more unusual to see one like this Fairlane. It is a solid specimen with fantastic lines and plenty of updates. And how else can you have all this space and still look so cool? One other interesting note about this Fairlane. It made a brief appearance in the 2011 movie Kill The Irishman with Val Kilmer at the wheel. It can be seen around the 30 minute mark if you are interested. The sight of a station wagon from this era is becoming less frequent. It is even more unusual to see one like this Fairlane. It is a solid specimen with fantastic lines and plenty of updates. And how else can you have all this space and still look so cool? Used 1964 Ford Fairlane 77,017 miles All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance.
