This 1975 Rickman CR750 was acquired in 2018. The bike was subsequently disassembled and restored with new nickel plating, Rickman Orange paint, and an overhaul of its Honda 736cc inline-four. The period Rickman kit features included a Reynolds 531 frame, a Ceriani front fork, Borrani wire-spoke wheels, Lockheed front and rear disc brakes, clip-on handlebars, an eccentric chain adjustment system, rearset foot controls, and racing-style fiberglass bodywork. This Rickman CR750 was fully disassembled and the frame, rear sets, and fairing mounts were subsequently nickel-plated. The fuel tank, seat cowl, reproduction CB750 K0 side covers, and other bodywork were repainted in Rickman Orange, and a new old-stock Rickman fuel tank strap and tail piece decal were fitted. The period Rickman fairing was originally meant for a Triumph CR and features a new old-stock Gustafsson windscreen. Period 18” Borrani Grand Prix wheels are fitted with stainless steel spokes and new Bridgestone Battlax BT45 tires measuring 110/80 front and 130/70 rear. The 41mm Ceriani fork features replacement seals and the rear swingarm is mounted with period new old-stock Girling shocks. Hydraulic disc brakes from AP Racing are equipped at both ends. Accessories include a Lucas-style taillight, CB750 turn signals, and a side stand. The 736cc inline-four is mated to a five-speed transmission to drive the rear wheel via a 520 chain conversion. The engine was dismantled, resealed, and repainted, while polished aluminum covers and period dress-up components were added during reassembly. The carburetors were rebuilt and fitted with chrome fuel bowls and top nuts. A stainless steel Delkevic four-into-one exhaust system was fitted in addition to a reproduction wiring harness. Bike was purchased 2 1/2 years ago from 2nd owner. Owner was a woman in her early 70's who rode this bike in the 70's and 80's. It had a Vetter fairing and Krauser bags/luggage rack. Mufflers were slip on to accomadate the Krauser bags. The seat was dished out to accept her size. Her husband rode a Concorse during that time. Parts replaced were pipes (Doremi 4 into 4), spokes, all wheel bearings, new bronze swing arm bushings, seat, tires, all engine gaskets and seals, all brake lines + rebuild kits for the master cyl caliper, new clutch cable, new front pads, rear drum brakes were cleaned and reinstalled, chain sprokets(530 chain / sprockets conversion) , new electronic regulator/rectifier, new chain guard, fork seals (disassembled, cleaned-new fork oil), new gas cap gasket. Carbs were cleaned with ultrasonic cleaner, valves were checked / adjusted, cam chain was adjusted. Engine was not disassembled other than to replace gaskets and to polish covers. The problamatic alternator oil seal was replaced with a new pliable seal and should not give you problems. Original petbird could not be salvaged so quality Pingel installed. All other parts are original to the bike. I do not have a tool kit for this bike. Bike does have a chain oil tank / dipstick but the pump is missing. Original paint is in extremly good condition other than one small rock chip on left side of tank and a rub mark on the tail piece from the luggage rack. Gages have not been rebuilt and show the exact mileage. I have a clear Minnesota title but bike is located in Idaho. The bike is ridden often and runs very well. As you can see from the pictures it has a electronic ignition (mech advance) which was installed by the 2nd owner. This has to be one of the original aftermarket ignitions offered and still runs perfect. The neck bearings are still the original ball type and were cleaned inspected and reinstalled. I normally would replace these with the tapered bearings but decided to leave as much original parts as I could. All electrics were checked and as mentioned above I replaced the regulator and rectifier and also wired in a relay which feeds the ignition circuit directly vs through the kill switch. 1970 Rickman Triumph 750cc Metisse Cafe Racer. The exceptional bike offered here has been built up using the very best components and artisans with an in-depth knowledge. Most CRs were built as a Caf é Racer, a spectacular looking machine that is beyond uncomfortable to ride, but this wears Roadster bodywork, a far rarer option. It has a shorter fuel tank, dual seat, forward-mounted footpegs and higher handlebars for far greater comfort. Hanging in the frame is a TR6SR engine, of 1966 vintage the last year of SR manufacture. Only 1,631 SRs were built in 1966 and a total of just over 3,000 in the 3-year run. At the top-end resides a very care Chantland 750cc kit. A highly collectible and rare part if you can find one, the Chantland kit is well-renowned as about the best upgrade available. To this, Amal Mk. II carburetors with alloy velocity stacks were installed, and the engine exhales via Dunstall-replica mufflers. It starts easily, regularly on the first or second kick, and idles strong. The engine feels very tight and responsive and it shows great power. Brakes are excellent. Like, really, really surprisingly good! Suspension feels taut and now, the entire electrical system works perfectly. Cosmetically, the bike is generally excellent. It was obviously built some time ago and there is a very minor surface rust evident if you look closely at a few components. Seat is perfect, as is bodywork. There is a small scuff in the tank ’s front edge, pictured. The bike would make a worthy addition to any collection, ticking all the collector boxes: great rarity, exceptional condition, and desirability. And, of course, it runs perfectly. It is a blast to ride. And fast. Used 1970 900 miles 1970 Rickman Triumph 750cc Metisse Cafe Racer. The exceptional bike offered here has been built up using the very best components and artisans with an in-depth knowledge.
